Community Participation

Community Participation

The term ‘Community Participation’ in the context of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) pertains to the facilitation and provision of support to NDIS participants, enabling them to engage in a variety of social, leisurely, and community-based activities. The fundamental aim of such participation is to advocate for inclusion and active engagement of individuals with disabilities within their local communities.

Community engagement endeavours may encompass a variety of activities, such as participating in local events, becoming a member of clubs or societies, and engaging in sports or arts initiatives. The significance of community involvement lies in its ability to foster a sense of belonging and well-being among its participants.
